Qualifly Reels is a small DTC fly fishing reel company based out of Colorado, founded by my dad, Joe Banik, in 2012. I didn't know much about fishing then (and arguably still don't) but I did have over 10 years of retail and creative branding experience to bring to the table. So in 2020 when work was unpredictable, I offered to help him with a soft rebranding and we had a lot of fun with it! I established a clear voice for the brand creatively but I have also learned an immense amount about other functions within the retail industry since joining him on a part-time basis. I rebuilt and maintain the Shopify website, edit/retouch all photography, create all marketing material, help sell at tradeshows, and have helped develop 2 new reels! The business is still small but has increased by 125% since I started.
